Robert Muggah

Contributor Biography
Dr. Muggah is principal of the SecDev Group and an associate at the International Relations Institute, Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
He is the former research director of the Geneva-based Small Arms Survey, and has worked for multilateral and bilateral agencies in more than 20 countries.
He received his D.Phil at Oxford University and his M.Phil at the Institute for Development Studies, University of Sussex. He is the author of Security and Post-Conflict Reconstruction: Dealing with Fighters in the Aftermath of War (New York: Routledge, 2009), Relocation Failures in Sri Lanka: A Short History of Internal Displacement (London: Zed Books, 2008), and No Refuge: The Crisis of Refugee Militarization in Africa (London: Zed Books 2006). As well as contributing chapters to the Small Arms Survey (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press) since 2001 and other edited volumes, he is widely published in peer-reviewed journals such as International Peacekeeping, Security Dialogue, Journal of Refugee Studies, International Migration, Foreign Policy, and others.
