Ralph Benmergui
Producer, Broadcaster, Host and Interviewer.
Contributor Biography
Four-time Gemini-nominee Ralph Benmergui is perhaps best known for his 18 years working as a broadcaster, host and interviewer with this country's only national public broadcaster, the CBC. What is lesser known is that Ralph, a native of Spanish Morocco actually began the first of his several careers on-stage as a stand-up comedian, an actor, even a rock band singer working the night club scene across the country. Ralph however believes he found his calling when he found journalism.
Over his many years as a broadcaster, Ralph has hosted several shows on CBC television and radio. He has interviewed thousands of newsmakers including world leaders and international celebrities such as John Cleese and John Travolta.
In the last couple of years with the CBC, Ralph has moved away from on-air broadcasting to the role of executive producer for several shows aimed at teenagers and young adults. Ralph works currently as an independent producer and consultant with several projects in the works including a movie which is now in development and as a jazz radio broadcaster for Jazz FM in Toronto.
