Adele Rolls Through Grammys

... and America's apparently cool with Chris Brown having a career again. Way to go, America.
So, the Grammy Awards were held last night, and predictably, Adele walked away with a boatload of 'em, including album of the year, song of the year, record of the year, pop vocal album of the year, and pop vocal performance of the year. Basically, she won just about everything, although the Foo Fighters (four awards), Kanye West (four awards), and Bon Iver (two awards) all did pretty well, too. So, four decent-to-excellent acts were awarded for putting out decent-to-excellent recorded material. Very Grammy-ish! Louis CK, Betty White, the co-creators of South Park, and Levon Helm, the former drummer/singer for The Band, also picked up Grammys. We're truly happy for all of them! It's almost like the Grammys award excellence in the music world, except for the part where they gave noted domestic abuser Chris Brown a Grammy for best R&B album. That part's a little sickening, and not just because dude wouldn't be able to carry a song without autotune, but also because it was just three years ago that Chris Brown violently assaulted his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, en route to the very same awards show that just showered him in accolades. (And then it took him about six weeks to apologize for it. Really authentic, meaningful apology there, bud!) Oh, and the show's producers also let this convicted girlfriend-abuser perform as if he had never beaten up one of the music world's biggest stars because he's a jealous, insecure man-child. So there's that, and, umm, this, but beyond those, everything else was alright.
