A Vancouver chef claims his creation is the world's most expensive hot dog.
Here at The Mark News, we only bring you the most important, hardest-hitting headlines from around the world. Sometimes, that means what's going on in Tahrir Square. Other times, it means talking about the world's most expensive hot dog, a cognac-infused sausage retailing for $100 in Vancouver, a city that knows its fair share about vastly overpaying for life essentials. The 'dog is a foot-long bratwurst infused with 100-year-old cognac that goes for about $2,000 a bottle. It comes covered in Kobe beef seared in truffle oil, lobster, and hot sauce, which actually makes it sound ... pretty delectable, actually. The Dragon Dog is the creation of Dougie Luv, owner of DougieDoug Hot Dogs, but he says so far, no one has ordered it. (That might have something to do with the fact that the hot dog costs about 30 times more than your typical streetmeat fare. Maybe.) If that $100 is a little out of your price range, we'd recommend hotdog enthusiasts check out Chicago's similarly named Hot Doug's for true gourmet (and much more affordable) tubular meat. That, or basically any street corner in any major metropolis in North America.
