Ricky Gervais Hosting Golden Globes Tonight

The only thing stranger than Ricky Gervais being asked back to host the Golden Globes is Ricky Gervais actually agreeing to do it. Critics were divided after his controversial second performance as host last year, in which he openly mocked the film industry, most celebrities, and all religious people in America. The unapologetic television producer and comedian vowed never to host the show again. That was months ago though, and now viewers will once again have Gervais’ sardonic quips to tide them through the boring bits of the Golden Globes, like everything that happens between 8-11p.m. Likely winners include The Artist, the Help, and The Descendants, which have the most nominations this year, while Morgan Freeman will receive the show's annual lifetime achievement award.
