Projects will total over $114 billion this year.
According to a report by infrastructure magazine ReNew Canada, the country’s most expensive infrastructure project is the Eglinton light rail. Toronto mayor Rob Ford’s decision to move the project underground bumped up its costs to $8.2 billion, roughly a third of the country’s entire spending on transit. The project is expected to take another eight years to complete. In total, $47 billion was invested in energy infrastructure projects, $15.3 in health-care projects, and $445 million on education. Roughly a third of the projects on the list were added this year, worth $30 billion in infrastructure investments.
