Globe Edges out The Mark at Digi Awards

Open bars make losing so much easier to take.

The Globe and Mail, a national newspaper you may or may not have heard of, took home the Digi Award for best digital publication last night. The newspaper's iPad app beat out such media heavyweights as Postmedia, Global, CBC, Huffington Post, and a little something called The Mark. For the record, we're totally fine with a newspaper that employs Daniel Leblanc, John Doyle, Gloria Galloway, and many, many more journalism luminaries taking home the hardware. Totally, utterly, completely fine! We swear! Plus, while we weren't privy to the voting process, we're pretty sure we were a close No. 2, because, come on, we're frickin' awesome, amiright? Anyhow, a great time was had by all at the soiree, what with the easy-flowing booze juice, delicious (and plentiful) hors d'ouevres, probably-intoxicated host Jeremy Hotz, and the creme de la creme of Canada's digital media elite.
