Memories of 1979 recalled as hardline students prompt embassy evacuation.
Iranian students have stormed the British Embassy in Tehran amid a demonstration protesting sanctions laid on the Islamic regime by the U.S., U.K., and Israel. Initial reports of six embassy workers being taken hostage have yet to be confirmed. The protesters, who were hardline students who support the Iranian regime, apparently forced their way onto embassy grounds, tore down the Union Jack flag and pictures of Queen Elizabeth II. Riot police have reportedly been brought in to quell the raid. Yesterday, the Iranian government approved a bill that would boot the British ambassador out of Iran and withdraw the Iranian ambassador to the U.K.
