A new rocket has been sent to Mars to check on the aliens.
NASA has officially launched a $2.5 unmanned mission to Mars to discover what-if any-signs of life exist on the Red Planet. The Atlas 5 rocket, aptly called “Curiosity,” is expected to reach the Gale Crater near the Martian equator in August. Using 17 cameras and various other tools including a robotic arm, the rover will assess the planet’s potential for life by looking for things like organic carbon. Curiosity is built to survive one Martian year (roughly two Earth years) and is powered by the radioactive decay of plutonium. This marks the first astrobiological quest since the release of E.T.
