The nuclear oversight agency passed a motion asking Iran to clarify its use of nuclear materials.
The International Atomic Energy Agency has passed a resolution calling for a deep and intensified dialogue about Iran’s nuclear plans. At its meeting in Vienna, the UN nuclear agency expressed increased “concern” about Iran’s testing of materials relevant “to the development of a nuclear device.” The resolution was passed by 32 countries, including Russia and China, with only Cuba and Ecuador voting against the motion. Iran, meanwhile, has said it will continue with business as usual and has even threatened to sue the IAEA over its most recent report. The Iranian government maintains it is enriching uranium exclusively for nuclear power purposes.
