CBC Saves Murdoch Mysteries For Some Reason

It wouldn't have anything to do with the Victorian crime drama being the prime minister's favourite show now, would it?
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has confirmed that it has saved Prime Minister Stephen Harper's favourite television show, Murdoch Mysteries, from the brink of extinction. The show, about a detective in 19th-century Toronto, had been aired on CityTV for the past four seasons. The fifth season, which was produced this summer, was to be the last of the series, until CBC swept in and announced that they would be picking up the tab for the sixth season, set to air on Mother Corp. in 2012. Now, we're not saying that this is a token gesture from CBC to the prime minister with the hope that he won't cut 10 per cent of their budget, or to get the Conservative party's hounds off of their back. But c'mon, right? Harper loves the show, and even had a cameo role on the show earlier this year, which to this day still sounds like the dullest moment in Canadian television history.
