Protesters move to Foley Square as they prepare a legal battle to reclaim Zuccotti Park.
New York City's finest circled around Zuccotti Park early this morning before evicting 100 or so protesters who refused to comply with an order to disband the nearly two-month-old encampment. Reports say 70 protesters were arrested, although there were no indications that there were any violent clashes between police and the Occupiers. The protesters who weren't arrested quickly made their way to nearby Foley Square, a park in Lower Manhattan surrounded by courthouses. The protesters' legal team has also requested a restraining order against the city and the landlord of Zuccotti Park to prohibit them from evicting the camp. A judge is set to rule on the validity of the order today. The Wall Street arrests followed evictions at other prominent Occupy sites, such as Occupy Oakland, as well as at sites throughout Canada, including Halifax and London, Ont.
