New Supreme Court Justices Shown Off

Michael Moldaver and Andromarche Karakatsanis meet the public and politicians they'll almost certainly have to overrule.

Canada's two newest Supreme Court justices were shown off to the public today for the first time since being sworn in secret to the highest bench in the land late last month. Michael Moldaver and Andromache Karakatsanis were feted at a ceremony attended by the rest of the Supreme Court, Justice Minister Robert "Rob" Nicholson, and a bunch of other legal types from Ontario, the province that both new judges call home. We're sure it was as delightful an event as one featuring dozens of lawyers and Rob Nicholson could be. Anyhow, the court also posed for their official photograph in their fancy ermine red robes that are the must-have item for the 2011-12 judicial season. Then, it's presumed they retired to their chambers for the real initiation party. Let's just say they don't call him Morris "Drinks Like A" Fish for nothin'.
