Bay of Fundy Misses Cut for New Seven Wonders

Shortlist of 14 wonders released this afternoon will be cut down the seven winners tonight.
The Bay of Fundy won't be named one of the world's new seven natural wonders after it failed to garner enough votes to make into the round of 14. The bay, wedged between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, is home to some of the highest tides on the planet but apparently isn't cool enough to rub elbows with the likes of Mount Kilimanjaro or the Amazon Basin, both of which made it into the final 14. The winning seven destinations will be announced later today. The contest has been running at New7Wonders.com, the product of a Bernard Webber, a Canadian-Swiss citizen who previously held online contests to determine the seven man-made wonders of the modern world.
The shortlisted 14 are:
• The Amazon Basin;
• Bu Tinah Island, United Arab Emirates;
• The Dead Sea;
• The Great Barrier Reef;
• Halong Bay, Vietnam;
• Iguazu Falls, Argentina;
• Jeita Grotto, Lebanon;
• Jeju Island, South Korea;
• Mount Kilimanjaro;
• Komodo Island, Indonesia;
• Masurian Lake District, Poland;
• Puerto Princessa Underground River, Philippines;
• The Sundarbans, India;
• Table Mountain, South Africa.
Call us biased, but the Bay of Fundy is soooo much cooler than the Masurian Lake District. Plus that island in the UAE? Come on, Internet.
