Nickelback Will Still Play Thanksgiving Halftime Show

Despite some 50,000 signatures calling for Chad Kroeger to stay at home, Nickelback will still get to pollute Detroit Rock City in two weeks.
Canada's most toxic export after asbestos will take to the stage at halftime of the NFL's Thanksgiving classic between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions despite a petition signed by thousands to have Nickelback booted. The Lions organization says that Nickelback will still be playing at the showdown between two of the league's best teams on that most sacred of American public holidays, Thanksgiving. The decision to have the monotonous, faux-grunge oil-rock band play in one of the most hallowed of American musical cities set off a firestorm of criticism, and led to more than 50,000 people signing an online petition to have the Lions ditch Nickelback in favour of, well, just about anything, really. Detroit, home to Motown, Iggy Pop, Aretha Franklin, and countless other musical legends, you have our sincerest apologies. Although feel free to keep them.
