A dating website finds that Chad Kroeger and his band of merry men are the musical equivalent of garlic and body odor.
This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone with a working set of ears, but an online dating site has determined that Nickelback is the biggest musical turnoff among its members. Tastebuds.fm, a dating site for music lovers, asked each of its users to submit a list of 12 bands or artists that would turn them off of a potential partner, and the pride of Hanna, Alta., came in as the undisputed No. 1, with just shy of 13 per cent of users listing them. And at No. 2 was the pride of Stratford, Ont., Justin Bieber, helping to solidify Canada's decades-old reputation of exporting awful pop music to the U.S. Coincidentally, Bieber, 17, was just slapped with a paternity suit by a California woman who says she and the Biebs hooked up backstage at one of his shows, so we know his music isn't turning off at least one lady. Rounding out the top 10 were Lady Gaga, Ke$ha (no surprises there, either), Coldplay, U2, Creed, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne and Britney Spears. So basically any hugely successful recording artist of the past decade, it seems. Other bands that cracked the top 20 include Dave Matthews Band, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, and Eminem, all of whom are far too wealthy to care in the slightest that their music is actively preventing people from getting laid via a dating site for music snobs.
