Frank The Tank! Frank The Tank! Frank The Tank!
Will Ferrell, the former Saturday Night Live cast member whose impression of George W. Bush is just about the only thing fondly remembered from that presidency, has become just the 13th recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Ferrell was honoured at a gala at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts last night in Washington, D.C., where a handful of friends and colleagues, including Jack Black, Ben Stiller, and Conan O'Brien, feted the man behind Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Old School, Step Brothers, Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and plenty more. (Such as that SNL sketch with Christopher Walken about needing more cowbell. You... might have heard of it.) The Mark Twain Prize, first introduced in 1998, is the top prize in the U.S. for comedy, and has previously gone to Tina Fey, Steve Martin, Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, and Lorne Michaels. Unconfirmed reports say that Ferrell celebrated his prize by going streaking through the quad.
