Sanity Prevails, Lake Shore Canned

The reality television show that made Jersey Shore look like Tolstoy failed to get picked up by a single network.
Lake Shore, the reality TV series set in Toronto that set the Internet abuzz last year with promises to set ethnic harmony back by about 50 years, will never make it to the airwaves, according to the Toronto Star. Maryam Rahim, the show's producer, e-mailed the show's eight cast members this month to tell them that the crappy Jersey Shore rip-off will thankfully never grace the country's television screens. One of the cast, Robyn Perza, aka The Jew, ('cuz the show was all edgy in nicknaming its participants based on their ethnicity), thinks network execs might have been put off by the race-baiting and display of human de-evolution that had been the show's trademark. However, Rahim said the show was a "victim of circumstances" due to an executive shake-up at Rogers. Sure, whatever helps her racism-addled brain sleep at night. While it's easy to have fun at Rahim's expense (and by all means, we invite you to do so in the comments), it's kind of sad reading the sacrifices that the cast made to appear in a show that will never be seen. Says Johnny Violin ("The Italian") of having to return to the construction agency: "I partied so much thinking that this was going to happen ... It sucks that now I gotta take [my construction job] real seriously again."
