The Toronto Marathon could witness history if centenarian Fauja Singh crosses the finish line.
A 100-year-old man will attempt to be the oldest man to ever finish a marathon this weekend when he takes on the 42 kilometres of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Fauja Singh, an English man born in India nicknamed "the turbaned tornado," last ran a marathon at the age of 92, completing it in five hours, 40 minutes, and one second. Just this week, he set eight records for his age at the Sikhs in the City track event in Scarborough, setting milestones in everything from the 100-metre sprint to the 5,000-metre long-distance run. Come Sunday, Singh will attempt to do the same with the ultimate endurance test.
