Yet another falling satellite has the potential to crash into Canadian soil this fall. ROSAT, a German space telescope, is expected to fall anywhere between Canada and oh, South America at the end of the month. Its mirrors alone weigh about 785 kilograms, and its odds of hitting a human are estimated at 2,000 to one (the odds for the last one were about 3,200 to one). The satellite, which was shut down in 1999, is said to be much bigger than the ones launched in the last decade or so. About 10 to 30 satellites re-enter the atmosphere every year.
