When’s the most reasonable time to shoot at your own people? At a funeral for your political opponent, according to Bashar al-Assad.
Syrian security forces opened fire this morning on the 50,000 people attending the Meshaal Tamo's funeral. The Syrian National Council member and founder of the Kurdish Future Party was killed Friday when masked gunmen arrived at his home. His funeral turned into yet another mass rally against al-Assad’s government as protesters demanded an end to the brutal regime. Syrian forces killed at least two people and injured others including Tamo’s son and a member of the Kurdish Future Party. In a speech to the UN Human Rights Council, Syria’s deputy foreign minister explained that the country’s deaths were a result of terrorist threats that arose in March. Cricket, cricket.
