Canadian Politics Threaten to Ruin Cleavage

Cleavage everywhere is outraged for having its reputation sullied by its association with something as foul as politics.
Cleavage is the mot du jour among politicos across the country today, with two separate rows over female politicians' clothing choices. On the federal stage, rookie NDP MP Rathika Sitsabaiesan has had enough with the attention paid to her parliamentary photo, which was touched up to cover up a bit of the Toronto-area MP's cleavage. Sitsabaiesan says it's stuff like this that turns women off politics, telling the Toronto Star she's tired of seeing fellow MPs' surprise that "a young, attractive women is saying something important and intelligent." That surprise could partly be due to Parliament being so used to old, unattractive white guys saying stupid and petty things instead.
Over on the West Coast, a former B.C. NDP MLA is in a bit of hot water for tweeting about B.C. Premier Christy Clark's cleavage in the legislature. David Schreck wondered over Twitter if "Premier Clark's cleavage revealing attire [is] appropriate for the legislature?" Despite a barrage of Twitter-hate over his comments, Schreck has refused to apologize, even if what Clark was wearing was about as offensive as buttered white bread. Clark has declined to comment on the matter, which is probably the right response as answering to an ogre like Schreck only gives statements like that more legitimacy.
