The Apple founder and tech legend passes away just weeks after resigning from the company he turned into a global icon.
Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple and one of the world's most influential entrepreneurs of the past half-century, has died at the age of 56. Jobs had recently resigned as CEO from the technology giant in August to cope with health issues, but had remained on as chairman of Apple's board of directors until his death. Jobs steered Apple from the brink of obscurity in the late 1990s into a decade as one of the planet's premier technology brands, spearheading the creation of such products as the iMac, the MacBook, the iPod, the iPhone, iTunes, and the iPad. The company is the second-most valuable on the planet and its logo is as recognizable as Coca-Cola's, so it's fair to rank Jobs among the greatest CEOs of all time. He leaves behind a wife and four children, and a legacy that cannot be overestimated.
