Monday Night Football Drops Williams over Hitler Remarks

No longer will Hank Williams Jr. question our preparedness for football on Monday nights.
As you might have heard, country music star Hank Williams Jr. is in trouble after comparing U.S. President Barack Obama to Hitler on television yesterday morning. We find it difficult to care less about the political meanderings of musicians than we already do, but the furor over Williams' statement on Obama and Speaker of the House John Boehner playing golf together being like Hitler and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hitting the links has hit us right where it hurts: His famed "All My Rowdy Friends Are Here for Monday Night" has been dropped as the theme song to Monday Night Football. Before last night's Tampa Bay Buccaneers/Indianapolis Colts game, ESPN aired a message saying it wouldn't play the iconic theme song due to Williams' comments. The sports network has yet to say whether Williams has been axed permanently or if it's just going to wait for this to blow over, as MNF without Hank is a little like the Colts without Payton Manning. Williams has declined to apologize, although we must admit, we're more than a little surprised to find out that he knows who Benjamin Netanyahu is.
