Another day, another backbench Tory from Saskatoon calling out his own government for funding Planned Parenthood.

These guys, sometimes. Maurice Vellacott, a backbench Conservative MP from Saskatoon-Wanuskewin, has become the second backbench Conservative MP from Saskatoon this week to slam the government's decision to grant the International Planned Parenthood Federation $6 million for maternal health initiatives in the developing world. Earlier this week, it was Brad Trost who expressed his disappointment over the funding (which, incidentally, is only going to countries where abortion is illegal). Now, Vellacott says in a news release that IPPF is trying to "con" Canadian taxpayers into thinking that money will only go to Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Mali, Sudan and Tanzania and not to provide abortions or counselling for abortions. We'll let the Regina Leader-Post's Murray Mandryk take it from here.
