Where's Gadhafi Today?

  • First Posted: Sep 28 2011 09:06 AM

First, he was in a convoy in Chad. Then, he was holed up in the town of Bani Walid. Now... Algeria?

The search for deposed Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi continues anew today, with reports suggesting the jheri-curled despot is hiding out near Libya's border with Algeria where Tuareg clansmen are providing him sanctuary. While fighting between Gadhafi loyalists and government forces continues around the city of Sirte, it's believed Gadhafi could be hanging out in the city of Gadhamis, which is roughly where the borders of Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya meet. Ethnic Tuaregs are believed to be protecting Gadhafi, as he still maintains a lot of favour from them for supporting them in a rebellion in Niger some years ago.
