Tories Limit Crime Bill Debate to Two Days

It's not like things such as 'facts' or 'reasoned arguments' hold much currency with the Tories, anyway.
The Gazillion-Dollar Pot-Growers Act will be fast-tracked through Parliament, as the Conservative government has voted to limit debate on the gargantuan, uncosted bill to just two days. Tory House Leader Peter Van Loan says the bill, which is made up of nine different pieces of legislation that had never passed before, has already been debated to death in its previous incarnations. After two days of debate, the bill will head to a Tory-dominated committee that will likely make few, if any, changes before sending it back to the House for a vote. The NDP and Liberals are pretty outraged over the move, as one would think there ought to be a careful accounting of the bill's manifold measures to drastically overhaul the Criminal Code and the country's sentencing practices, but forget it, Jake, it's majority town.
