Women hold only a third of government-appointed board positions on crown corporations.
We’ve come a long way since 1867. But it may be time for Canadians to stop patting ourselves on our equally educated backs and take a look at our crown corporations. According to a review by the Canadian Press, women hold just a quarter of all board positions at Canada’s Crown corporations. Out of 381 positions, women hold only 94, and only four of 45 corporations have an equal number of men and women or more women than men on their boards.
