Poll of the Day: While her party is still in third place, respondents say Andrea Horwath would be their party guest of choice.

Today's poll of the day finds that Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath is the most likable of the provincial party leaders, even if that's kind of like saying she's best player on the Toronto Raptors. The Ipsos Reid poll found that about 40 per cent of Ontarians say Horwath is the leader they'd most like to have over for a barbecue, while just 32 per cent said the same about PC Leader Tim Hudak and 31 per cent said as much about Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty. Likability is a huge factor when it comes to ballot-box decisions, as deceased NDP leader Jack Layton was routinely picked as the federal leader with whom most voters would have liked to have had a beer. This same poll also found that 55 per cent of respondents weren't going to tune in to the election until the leaders' debate next week, which, considering the level of discourse seen so far, is totally understandable, if a little depressing. Also depressing: A full 59 per cent of respondents said they didn't think that Ontario was a have-not province, despite it indisputably being one. We believe the term for this is "willful ignorance."
