NetFlix to Split Into Streaming, DVD Services

Say hello to Qwikster, the latest needlessly misspelled Internet venture that will probably die within five years.
NetFlix will split up its streaming-video and DVD-delivery services into separate entities, with the latter set to be renamed as “Qwikster.” The new snail-mail delivery company will also feature video games for rent as well, but won't be integrated into the existing NetFlix framework, meaning a new site, new accounts, and new headaches for those who can't handle the bandwidth needed to get the most out of the streaming service. Speaking of headaches, Qwikster can't use Qwikster.com as a domain nor @Qwikster for a Twitter account, as the former is already taken and the latter belongs to a pot-smoking Elmo. NetFlix also says the split will coincide with a whole lot of new content on the streaming side of things, which shouldn't be too much a surprise given how terrible most of NetFlix's selection already is.
