Saleh becomes the fourth despot in the Arab world to lose his job this year.
Yemen's president, Ali Abdullah Saleh, will not be returning to the country and will instead remain in Saudi Arabia where he's been recovering from an attack by anti-government protesters on his palace. Unnamed officials close to Saleh confirmed as much, meaning that for all intents and purposes, Saleh's three-decade-long rule of Yemen is over. Saleh will now officially transfer power over to his vice-president, making him the fourth leader to have fallen in the Arab Spring so far, joining Tunisia's Zinedine Ben Ali, Egypt's Hosni Mubarak, and Libya's Moammar Gadhafi. Yemen, a small country on the southern part of the Arabian peninsula, has been rocked by anti-government protests and violent reprisals since late last year.
