NBA Stars, Coke, and Snowmobiles: The Sarah Palin Story?

What, like you've never done lines off an oil drum while snowmobiling before ...
We here at The Mark like to hold ourselves to some standard of decency in our pseudo-reporting, meaning we don't usually pass off salacious rumours or write about crimes of the day or what have you. BUT when a book alleges that former Alaskan governor/ vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin hooked up with NBA legend Glen Rice before getting married and was seen snorting cocaine off an overturned oil drum while snowmobiling, we ... just can't help ourselves.
Joe McGinniss' The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, is to hit store shelves next week, but The National Enquirer obtained a copy and is having a field day with it. The Rice allegation (Rice, one of the NBA's all-time leading scorers, confirms it in the book) stems from when Rice was living in Wasillia in 1987 to play in a basketball tournament. Palin, who hadn't married Todd Palin yet, was a sports reporter at the time. In all honesty, that she (allegedly) hooked up with one of the sport's greatest redeems her a fair bit in our books. The coke-and-snowmobiling affair, though ... not so much, as it basically sounds like one of the less-inspired chapters in Tommy Lee's autobiography. Oh, and she (again, allegedly) had an affair with Todd's business partner and longtime friend. Oh, and she quit being governor halfway through her term to make millions on book tours and Fox News.
