CTV Cancels So You Think You Can Dance Canada

Well, we THOUGHT we could dance, but no longer will we get the opportunity to show the country.

CTV has decided to cancel So You Think You Can Dance Canada just days after the dance program wrapped up its fourth and highly successful season. The broadcaster kept quiet on the reasons for the show's cancellation, as the show had been one of the network's most-watched Canadian-made programs, routinely drawing in more than a million viewers. The producers and cast members of the show are understandably a little confused and saddened over the end of the show, a recreation of the hugely popular American version, So You Think You Can Dance. The show debuted just after CTV cancelled Canadian Idol after six seasons, so our completely uniformed guess is that CTV will replace SYTYCDC with weekly productions of Shakespearean costume dramas and/or The Lake Shore.
