Replicas of the shoes worn by Michael J. Fox in "Back to the Future II" are now up for auction on e-bay.
By 2015, it’s unlikely we’ll see Queen Diana or travel by hoverboards— but we will have the right shoes for the occasion. Marty McFly’s shoes from Back to the Future II are now available to the public for a new charitable auction. Nike’s first rechargeable shoe, the MAG, lights up for up to five hours per charge and looks exactly like the ones sported by Michael J. Fox in the film, minus the self-tying laces. And while British rapper Tinie Tempah may have set the bar high with his $37,500 purchase, another 1500 pairs are circulating on E-Bay. From September 8-18th, 150 pairs are up for auction here with shoes selling for roughly $4,000-8,000 a pair. All proceeds are going the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s disease research, and Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin and his wife will be matching the donations. Ah, Google, always investing in the future.
