Somewhere in the U.S., a prison librarian just shuddered.
Conrad Black is headed back to jail today, as he begins his second stint in the clink after being found guilty of obstructing justice. Black was granted bail from prison last year amid his seven-year sentence for wire fraud at his former company, Hollinger International, but was found guilty of lesser charges in a retrial earlier this year. Black was sentenced to 42 months, the bulk of which he's already served at a federal prison in Florida. Black won't be headed back to that prison, but where he'll be staying for the next year or so is unknown. While doing the interview rounds before his sentence, Black has revealed all manner of juicy, well-timed tidbits, such as that he wants his Canadian citizenship back, that guards at his last prison were scared he might assault them, and that he allied himself with some Mafia members serving time during his previous sentence. If only Conrad Black could go to prison more often...
