Maybe if the team would JUST RELEASE THE DAMN JERSEY ALREADY this wouldn't have happened.
The RCMP has intercepted a batch of counterfeit Winnipeg Jets jerseys, valued at $12,000, that someone had attempted to smuggle across the border into Manitoba. Since the recently relocated franchise has yet to release jersey designs (with less than a month before preseason games get underway), proving the 40 sweaters were counterfeits was probably one of the easier cases for the RCMP and Canadian Border Services Agency this year. We will say, though, that the counterfeit sweaters look alright, if a little less than eye-catching. Plus, the counterfeiters successfully avoided using that ugly typeface the team had used for the word “Jets,” so at least they have taste. No respect for copyrighted material or NHL-starved hockey fans across Manitoba, but taste, yes.
