You know what would go great with those new Steve Maddens? A big shiner courtesy of your husband's fist.
In case you needed any more proof that the beauty industry was depraved and basically devoid of anything approaching human decency, an Edmonton hair salon has been running an ad campaign glorifying domestic abuse for the past year. Fluid Hair is now the target of an online boycott because of a provocative ad in which a husband offers a necklace to his wife, who happens to be sporting a black eye, under the tagline “Look good in all you do.” The salon's owner, an assuredly delightful woman named Sarah Cameron, claims the ad is art (no, it's not, it's a cheap ad dressed up with nice lighting, interesting hair cuts, and just-visible veneer of utter tastelessness), but says she will donate the proceeds from any customer who mentions the ad to women's shelters. We should hope, because if there's one thing as despicable as domestic abuse, it's profiting off of it.
