Ghadafi to Condoleezza: Do you like me yes/no/maybe?

Just as he’s been insisting these last six months, Moammar Gadhafi is totally misunderstood: turns out he’s actually just a lovesick schoolboy. Or at least, that’s the best we can guess after Libyan rebels reported they found a bizarre Condoleezza Rice tribute at Gadhafi’s compound. Gadhafi, who once told Al Jazeera he loved his “darling black African woman,” attempted to give Rice $212,000 worth of gifts when she visited Libya in 2008 including a diamond ring, a manifesto, a lute, and best of all, a locket featuring an engraved image of himself (take note: nothing says romantic like an object with your face on it). Speaking of Libyan assets, the U.S. and South Africa agreed Thursday to release $1.5 billion from American banks after the head of the National Transitional Council called for the immediate release of at least $5 billion in frozen funds to restore order in the region.
