Nominees out for Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Awards

The nominees were announced this week for the annual Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Awards and it’s clear who’s in the lead: Manitoba. The province boasts a whopping 23 nominations. After an online vote, the complete list of nominees in all 21 categories was revealed including Best Hand Drum CD, Best Pow Wow CD, Best Aboriginal Music Radio Station and of course Aboriginal Songwriter of the Year. The voting period is open until October 6th at their website and you don’t need to be Aboriginal to weigh in. The show will take place November 3rd and 4th and will be partially broadcast live on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network.
