This ... doesn't really bode well for future U.S.-China relations.
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden's visit to China hasn't exactly gone too smoothly, with a brawl breaking out between Chinese government officials and reporters covering Biden's speech on relations between the two countries. Allegedly, officials tried to force reporters out of the hall when Biden went over his allotted time. The reporters weren't having any of it, and heated words led shoving and fisticuffs as Biden wrapped up his appeal for “openness and candour” between the U.S. and China. Meanwhile, a bench-clearing brawl erupted during a basketball game between China's Bayi Rockets and the visiting Georgetown University men's team, who were in Beijing to coincide with Biden's visit. With nine minutes left in the game and the score knotted at 64 apiece, the foul-heavy game ended when tempers boiled over, chairs were flung, and a bunch of fists were thrown before both sides retreated to their locker rooms.
