The performance artist uploads an hour of film taken during her 'protest' with John Lennon in response to the British riots.
If you have an hour to spare and want to watch two hippies engage in the laziest protest ever, head on over to Yoko Ono's website to watch footage of her and John Lennon's bed-in at a Montreal hotel from 1969. Lennon's widow posted the video in response to the British riots from last week, hoping that some of the kids might “Give Peace a Chance.” The couple's bed-in, staged at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, attracted all sorts of celebrities and interviews with the entire week-long protest being captured on film. Lennon and Ono also recorded “Give Peace a Chance” while staying there, so at least something productive came of it. We're not even really sure how the bed-in came to be called a protest, as the only things anyone who decides to stay in bed for a week are usually taking a stand against are hygiene, a social life, and their own mental health, but far be it for us to question Saint John's wisdom (except for that part where he hooked up with Yoko Ono, then broke up The Beatles. Not such a great decision). The video, titled Bed Peace, will be taken down come Sunday, so get to it while the going's good.
