Canadians: We Are Sick, Sick People

More than half of Canadians report having a chronic disease.
A new survey suggests that 52 per cent of all Canadians suffer from some sort of chronic disease, meaning chances are, you're sick and stay the heck away from us. That's up five percentage points from the last time DeLoitte performed the survey, which could be a result of an aging population. The survey also found that Canadians were less likely to think they were in good or excellent health than Americans, with 55 per cent of Canadians saying so and 61 per cent of Americans indicating as such. Granted, these are self-reported indicators, and Canadians' tendency toward restraint and modesty probably figures into that number, and, really, nearly two-thirds of Americans think they're in good health? Have you been there? Plus, Canada did beat out such not-nearly-as-obese countries as France, Germany, and Switzerland, so we're going to go ahead and take this with a whopping serving of salt (after all, we should be able to handle the sodium if we think we're in such good shape).
