Staff expects minimal damage, although, had their owner been kicking around, there probably would have been much, much more.
Gordon Ramsay's first Canadian restaurant got off to a rocky debut last night, as Laurier Gordon Ramsay had to be evacuated when a sprinkler system was set off. Laurier Gordon Ramsay, formerly the Rotisserie Laurier BBQ, located in the swank Outremont neighbourhood in Montreal, had to close down for the night after the sprinkler mishap, although the staff hopes to have it up and running again in time for Thursday's dinner rush. Thankfully for the ears of Outremont's youngsters, Ramsay wasn't present at the opening, otherwise there likely would have been a stream of profanity uttered loud enough for everyone within the 514 area code to hear it. The Scottish celebrity chef describes the grill as “shabby chic,” a term all the more appropriate now that it's waterlogged.
