Gordon Ramsay Opens First Canadian Restaurant

Montreal's Rotisserie Laurier BBQ gets remade into Laurier Gordon Ramsay, just in case you couldn't tell by the swearing and amazing food who owns the place.

Montreal's profanity quotient is about to double, as celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is set to open his first restaurant in the country there today. Ramsay bought the restaurant formerly known as Rotisserie Laurier BBQ after visiting it two years ago, and now the Montreal mainstay – it's been kicking around since the 1930s – will be known as Laurier Gordon Ramsay (we're a bit meh on the name), although it will still serve barbeque chicken and the like. Ramsay apparently loved everything about the restaurant except its “retirement home” decor when he visited as a customer, so the Scotsman cleaned the joint up a bit (and, we're guessing, elevated the prices by a healthy margin in the process).
