The best cable network in the U.S. gets its Canadian debut this fall. We never thought we'd say this, but thank you, Rogers.
Those of us forced to watch critically acclaimed American TV shows such as Justified, Sons of Anarchy, and Louie illegally online will soon be able to watch those, and the rest of the FX network lineup, on regular ol' television. Rogers and FX announced that FX Canada will first air on Nov. 1 for Rogers subscribers, giving Canadians their first taste of one of the premier cable networks in the United States. In addition to the aforementioned shows (seriously, Louie in particular is the most groundbreaking comedy on television in years), Canadians will soon be able to watch Damages, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, and The League, all of which we can vouch for as being some of the best programming on U.S. television. Rogers and FX (which is owned by Fox, which is owned by you-know-who, but we can overlook that) say they'll launch a bunch of Canadian content on the network, too. Great! While we tend toward overstatement sometimes, this is without a doubt the best addition to television in this country since HD.
