Anonymous proves once again that if you have a website and you commit questionable deeds, you're gonna get hacked.
A day after uploading 10 gigabytes of data stolen from police forces across the U.S., Anonymous has struck the Syrian Ministry of Defence, hacking its website to post a message of support to civilians who have risen up against President Bashar al-Assad's dictatorship. The defence ministry has been integral in crushing the uprising, in which more than 1,700 Syrian citizens have been killed since unrest began in March. Anonymous replaced the site with amateur photographs of protest and the violence carried about by Assad's regime and posted a message to the military telling it it holds the balance of power in the conflict. While the site has since been taken down, screengrabs of the cyber-vandalism can be seen here.
