Toronto Synagogue Hit by Vandals

The Beth Tikvah Synagogue tells its members to respond calmly to a swastika now adorning their temple.

A Toronto synagogue was defaced with a swastika and graffiti proclaiming that “Islam will rule." The Beth Tikvah Synagogue in the city's east end was hit by vandals sometime last night. Police are looking for suspects but haven't released many other details. Rabbis at the synagogue are urging their members to remain calm, telling CTV that the graffiti “does not represent anything greater than what some guy or group of people wrote on a wall.” The synagogue's members are aiming to have the hate speech (because that's what this is) cleared off the temple before sundown tonight in time for services on Saturday morning.
