Then again, Norway ranked even lower, and we all saw how THAT turned out ...
In addition to having just about the soundest economy in the West, pristine natural beauty, and one of the lower crime rates, Canada is also the least likely major western country to be attacked by terrorists, according to a new study. Risk-analysis company Maplecroft says Canada has the 88th-highest terror risk on the planet, the lowest of any of the major western economies. The United Kingdom, on the other hand, was 38th, and Greece, rocked by anti-government protests and a teetering economy, was 27th. The two “terror” incidents recorded in Canada were the firebombing of an Ottawa bank by anarchists last May, and the vandalism that swept through Toronto during the G20 summit. (No one was killed, or even seriously injured, in either case.) Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan led the list, with newcomer South Sudan cracking the top 5.
