The prime minister drops by Etobicoke to throw his support behind Tim Hudak, conveniently ignoring everything Dalton McGuinty's done for him.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper stopped by a barbeque at the house of the mother of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford to wade into the Ontario provincial election, calling on the Progressive Conservatives to pull off a right-wing “hat trick” in the country's biggest province. Harper dropped by the suburban Toronto gathering unannounced to rally his provincial counterparts, a gaggle of whom were assembled to gripe about wind farms or whatever there is left for them to complain over. Harper also claimed that he hopes PC Leader Tim Hudak can unseat Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty, which is a fine way of paying tribute to the man who incorporated Harper's harmonized sales tax with a fraction of the consternation seen in B.C., or who helped the feds bail out and then turn a profit on the auto industry, or who staged Harper's precious G8 and G20 summits without a fuss despite the ensuing chaos, but those sentiments probably wouldn't have gone over too well at Fort Ford.
