Colon Cleanses: Maybe Not So Good For You

But when has a Georgetown University medical doctor ever been right about celebrity health trends?
An American researcher is raising a stink over colon cleanses, saying that the practice of flushing up to 60 litres of water up your rectum might be doing more harm than good. Georgetown University's Dr. Ranit Mishori has just published a survey of all clinical studies from the past decade on the effects of colon cleanses and concluded that there is little to no benefit to patients' health gained by the celebrity-endorsed treatment. On the contrary, Mishori believes cleanses cause far more harm than good, as they often lead to vomiting, nausea, kidney failure, and other side effects one might expect from blowing 60 litres of water up one's rectum. Which just goes to show that taking your health advice from the likes of Halle Berry might not be as wise as say, listening to an actual medical doctor, or even that part of brain that is a tad skeptical of the health benefits of shoving 60 litres of water up your rectum.
